The Doctor

Dr. David Kalapp, D.C.

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. KalappTo put it simply, I did not know what a Chiropractor was. I just knew that someone told my wife to go see one, and she did. She got relief, so I went to a health class and that was my first introduction to this thing they call chiropractic.

However, like most things, it sounded too good to be true. However, there were many things that had been introduced to me that made sense. So, when my wife and I were expecting our second child, I went to the chiropractor and asked him what he thought my wife needed in order to have a better second birth. He explained that there were some complicating factors that she had so that she would need to be seen for three times a week for the last trimester. WOW! I thought. That sure seemed like a ridiculous amount of adjustments. But, I thought it was worth a shot. By the time Bianca’s (that’s my wife) last trimester came around, we lived an hour away from this chiropractor. However, we decided to give it a try. I decided to also get adjustments, three times a week. You see, I had been hit by a car when I was seven. Little did we know, but this one accident had made significant changes to my neck and by the time I was 15, I started having migraines.

“So what! My mom has migraines too.” I thought it was hereditary.

Still, I decided to get adjusted when my wife did, and to my surprise, at the end of that three month period, my migraines were gone! I was having 3 migraines a week – GONE! I was so shocked, that we continued to get adjusted and I came in with lists of questions. My chiropractor was awesome! He took the time to answer all of my questions about health and how chiropractic care could really change peoples’ lives. I thought to myself, this is something I want to do. And the rest is history. I left my job as a truck driver and packed my wife and 2 children up and moved to Davenport, Iowa to study at Palmer College of Chiropractic.

I chose Palmer, not because it was my first choice, but because it worked best for the schedule I had for getting started with school. I am very glad that it worked out the way it did, because I received the best education possible in chiropractic care. The thing I liked the most about the education is that it challenged me to learn so much that I had never known before about health and wellness and what wellness truly is. The best thing that Palmer taught me to do was find answers for my practice members. I use this to this day to help my practice members. There are many things that I do not know, and I am not afraid to say so. But I will help my practice members get answers.

I have an awesome family!

Kalapp Family

My wife, Bianca, and I were married in June of 1995. Since then, we have had the pleasure of having 7 girls and one son. That’s right, eight children! I love every minute of it! This is the best thing worth living for. This was a major reason I chose chiropractic as a profession. I wanted to be able to give my family chiropractic care for the rest of their lives. Our girls love playing volleyball and my son loves being with Dad and doing the things “men” do. He’s awesome! (pic to the right is outdated)

I get adjusted every week just to keep my body healthy. I went through getting adjusted a lot, so I could enjoy being on maintenance care or wellness care. I work out at LP Crossfit 3 times per week as well as do cardio workouts 3 times per week. I workout like this so I can be as healthy as possible for my family and our patients. I intend on being around for a long time, and I want to be vibrant and healthy while I am still here on earth.

If you are serious about learning how you and your family can live a vibrant active life, give us a call today and we will schedule you for an appointment to see if chiropractic would be the right direction for you and your family.
